Custom Tools are designed to deliver cutting processes where standard cutting tools are not viable. These cost-effective tools are exclusive designs built for cutting operations. They can be customized for drilling, milling, turning, boring etc.

API GROOVING CUTTERS

Ring joint gaskets are metallic sealing rings suitable for high pressure & high temperature applications and are fit in ring groove type flanges. To accommodate the ring gaskets, API has recommended Standard Groove Details for sealing requirements. The API grooves may be directly formed on the flanges /connectors, or while servicing of the worn-out flanges, by filling material and forming the API Grooves afresh. Hoshi Tools, is an expert in providing SEAL_MASTER – API Grooving Cutters for these operations.

BACK BORING TOOLS

Back Boring Tools are a combination of Back Boring, Facing & Chamfering tools which are custom built for specific applications. They are developed with Rhomboidal & Triangular inserts with Screw-on Type Clamping.

BORING BARS

Boring Bars are single point boring tools used for enlarging pre-existing bores, usually in turning operations. They are designed with various insert and clamping configurations. The shanks can be made of steel, a combination of steel & carbide as well as heavy metal depending on the required bore depth.

CHAMFERING TOOLS

Chamfering Tools are cutters for Chamfering a specific range of bore diameters. Developed with Triangular inserts, the cutting-edge length is arranged by overlapping the inserts for the Diameter Range. They are screw-on type clamping with detachable head types suitable for various shank / adaptor styles. Bore diameter Range: Ø 3.5 - Ø 108 (Depending on insert size, style of cutter)

COMBI BORING BARS

These tools are developed for specific operations with a combination of multi diametrical boring & facing chamfering cutters which are developed with various configurations of inserts and type of insert clamping. The tool holding can be integral shank type or tools assembled with shanks as required.

COMBI CARTRIDGE BORING BARS

These tools are combination boring bars where most of the cutting operations, roughing, finishing, chamfering etc are done with cartridges where the advantage of adjusting the dimensions radially and axially, unlike the regular combination boring bars with rigid insert position is possible. They can be designed to combine both roughing as well as finishing cuts.

DOVETAIL CUTTERS

Regular face milling and shoulder milling cutters cannot be used to create acute corners in components such as guide rails of machine beds. Dove-tail Cutters, are designed to suit the angle which it must achieve. These cutters can also be used as face mills if required, during the same process of dove-tail machining.

DRILLS - COMBI DRILLS

Solid drilling tools, (without pre-bore) with indexable inserts, usually called U-Drills are mounted with centre cutting and peripheral cutting inserts with helical flutes. In most of the cases, they are two insert designs: single tip, with diagonally opposite cutting edges called as Spade Drills and for bigger diameters they can be configured with more than two inserts. These drills are also designed combining boring, facing & chamfering operation in one tool.

END MILLS - SHOULDER MILS

End mills and shoulder mills are designed to machine the face as well as vertical face in the same pass. They can be used as face mills as well as for limited depth plunge cutting. If a centre cutting insert is mounted, it can be used for drilling, but with flat bottom surface.

FACE MILLS

Face mills are used for machining thru flat surfaces, generally while preparing the parts with perfect vertical surfaces all-round. They have an approach angle for cutting, which is non-vertical, commonly designed at 75°, 60° & 45° approach angles. Further they can be categorized into, integral shanks and assembled holders where the body material can be either steel or aluminum depending on machining conditions.

GUIDED TOOLS

Guided tools are combination tools which are used for bore tolerance and concentricity of the bore or line of bores, which are very critical. This is achieved by fixing carbide guide pads in strategic positions, immediately after the cutting edges, so that the tool is kept in position with minimum vibration & concentricity. The difference between diameters of cutting edge and the guide pads is minimum due to Guided tools.

SIDE AND FACE MILLS GROOVING CUTTERS

Side and face milling cutters used for long, deep and open slots provide the best stability and productivity. They can also be built into a set of cutters, referred as Gang Milling, for a combination of side & face milling or slot milling, where there is more than one surface in the same plane, to machine in single pass, thus achieving the consistency of dimensions in production.

THREAD MILLS THREADING TOOLS

Avoid tap breaks by using thread mills which produce threads with the helical movement of a rotating tool. The lateral movement of the tool in one revolution creates the thread pitch. These tools require machines with 3 axis simultaneous movement. Thread mills are the best option, when machining is required to done on an asymmetric & non-rotating surface.

TURNING TOOL HOLDERS

These are external turning indexable turning tool holders, which are generally used on conventional lathes and CNC turning centres. The holding shanks are either square or rectangular where the insert mounting can be with lever, top finger clamp or a combination of both, screw on type etc depending on insert configuration.

VALVE SEAT TOOLING

Valve seat tools are made to machine the seating area of the automobile inlet and exhaust valves, which are commonly three angle configurations. The tools can be integral adopter or two-part designs mounted with CBN bites which are adjustable axially. There can be a single tool for roughing and finishing of each of inlet & exhaust seating area, or there can be separate tools for roughing and finishing. The adopters can be BT, HSK or as suited for the machine.
